Possible Causes
Probe tip shorted by moisture or grease, Melted probe insulation, Shorted probe jack contacts
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the probe to cool before handling.
- Clean probe: Wipe the probe tip and cable with a damp cloth and mild detergent to remove grease. Dry thoroughly, especially around the connector.
- Inspect insulation: Look for melted or cracked insulation along the cable. If bare wires are visible, replace the probe.
- Test with another probe: Plug in a different Gourmet Grillson-compatible probe. If the error clears, discard the faulty probe.
- Check jack: If multiple probes show ERR12, inspect the probe jack for debris or bent contacts. Clean gently and, if necessary, replace the control board containing the jack.
