Possible Causes
Loose RTD probe mounting, RTD probe coated with heavy grease, Control board PID parameters corrupted, Excessive pellet feed due to sticky auger
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the grill to cool before touching the RTD probe or interior surfaces.
- Clean RTD probe: Gently wipe the grill temperature probe with a soft cloth to remove baked-on grease. Do not use abrasive pads that could damage the sensor.
- Check probe mounting: Ensure the RTD probe is firmly attached to the cook chamber wall and not loose or rattling.
- Inspect auger operation: Watch the auger during a cook cycle. It should cycle on and off, not run continuously. If it sticks on, the auger relay on the control board may be failing.
- Reset controller: If the controller offers a factory reset or PID reset option, perform it according to the manual to restore default control parameters.
- Update firmware: Install the latest Gourmet Grillson firmware if available, as control tuning is sometimes improved in updates.
