Possible Causes
Failed combustion fan motor, Obstructed fan blade, Loose fan wiring connector, Burned fan driver on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the grill before accessing the fan compartment.
- Access fan: Remove the rear or side service panel to expose the combustion fan assembly.
- Check for obstructions: Inspect the fan blades for grease buildup, foil, or debris. Clean thoroughly and ensure the blade spins freely by hand.
- Inspect wiring: Verify the fan motor connector is fully seated on the harness and that wires are not pinched or burned.
- Test fan motor: With the fan disconnected, use a multimeter to check for appropriate resistance across the motor leads (not open). If available, briefly power the fan with a suitable test source to confirm operation. Replace the fan motor if it does not spin.
- Check board output: If a known-good fan does not run when the grill is started, the fan driver circuit on the control board may be failed. Replace the main control board.
