Possible Causes
Sticking auger relay on control board, Incorrect auger calibration, RTD probe reading low due to placement, Excessive airflow from modified chimney cap
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Monitor the grill closely when testing. Avoid leaving it unattended at high temperatures.
- Observe auger cycling: At a moderate setpoint, watch the auger. It should run in short bursts. If it runs continuously, the auger relay on the control board may be stuck and the board should be replaced.
- Check RTD placement: Ensure the grill temperature probe is not directly in the path of cold air leaks or too close to the lid. Reposition only to the factory location.
- Reset controller: Perform a factory reset or PID reset if available to restore default feed rates.
- Restore exhaust configuration: If you have modified the chimney cap or added aftermarket exhaust accessories, return to the original Gourmet Grillson configuration to maintain designed airflow.
