Gourmet Grillson
Mid-Cook Flame-Out
Grill starts but then goes out mid-cook; temperature slowly drops to ambient and pellets stop burning.

Possible Causes
Pellet bridge in hopper preventing feed, Auger jam from pellet dust, Weak combustion fan, Excessive ash choking firepot
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF and unplug the grill. Allow it to cool before cleaning or clearing jams.
- Stir pellets: Open the hopper and stir pellets to break any bridges. Keep the hopper at least one-third full during long cooks.
- Clean firepot and ash: Vacuum ash from the firepot and burn area. Gourmet Grillson recommends frequent ash removal to prevent smothering the fire.
- Check auger feed: With the hopper partially empty, start the grill and observe whether pellets drop consistently into the firepot. If feed is intermittent, inspect the auger for jams and clean out pellet dust.
- Inspect fan: Confirm the combustion fan runs steadily during operation. Replace the fan motor if it is noisy, slow, or intermittent.
