Possible Causes
Pellet dust and debris in auger tube, Dry or worn auger bushings, Slight auger misalignment, Foreign object in hopper or auger
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF, unplug, and let the grill cool before working on the auger.
- Empty hopper: Remove all pellets and vacuum out sawdust and debris.
- Inspect auger: Remove the auger motor and slide the auger out. Check for bent sections, foreign objects, or heavy rust.
- Clean and lubricate: Clean the auger tube and shaft. Lightly lubricate the auger bushings with a high-temperature, food-safe lubricant (avoid over-lubrication).
- Reassemble carefully: Ensure the auger is centered in the tube and the motor coupler is properly aligned.
If noise persists and the auger binds, replace the auger shaft and bushings.
