Possible Causes
Broken shear pin between motor and auger, Stripped auger coupler, Auger shaft not engaged with motor output
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the grill before working on the auger drive.
- Access auger motor: Remove the motor cover at the end of the auger tube.
- Inspect coupler: Check the connection between the motor shaft and auger. Look for a missing or broken shear pin or stripped coupler.
- Replace shear pin/coupler: Install a new Outdoorchef-specified shear pin or coupler, aligning holes properly.
- Test feed: Reassemble and run the auger with an empty hopper to confirm rotation before adding pellets.
If the motor shaft does not turn under power, replace the auger motor.
