Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: This is a potential electric shock hazard. Immediately switch off power at the main breaker and do not attempt to run the pump until the fault is resolved.
- 1. Inspect for moisture: Open the motor terminal cover and Espa control box (if separate). Look for condensation, water droplets, or corrosion. Dry the area thoroughly with a clean cloth and gentle warm air (not open flame).
- 2. Check cable entry glands: Ensure that cable glands on the motor and control box are tight and that the rubber seals are intact to prevent water ingress.
- 3. Examine cable insulation: Look for cuts, cracks, or crushed sections on the pump supply cable. Replace the cable if any damage is found.
- 4. Insulation test: A qualified electrician should perform an insulation resistance test between motor windings and earth. Low insulation indicates a failing motor that must be replaced.
Do not bypass earth leakage protection devices. If E10 continues, replace the motor or control module as recommended by Espa service.
