Possible Causes

Faulty Hall sensor or tachometer in motor, Loose feedback connector on control PCB, Damaged sensor wiring, Internal drive fault

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power before removing covers or accessing internal connectors.

  • 1. Inspect sensor wiring: Locate the small multi-core cable from the motor to the Espa drive/control PCB. Ensure the connector is fully seated and not corroded.
  • 2. Check for mechanical drag: With power off, spin the motor shaft or fan by hand. If it is stiff or rough, bearing issues may be causing erratic speed and sensor misreadings.
  • 3. Clean connectors: If accessible, unplug and replug the sensor connector to wipe contacts. Do not bend pins.
  • 4. Test at fixed speed: Set the pump to a fixed manual speed. If E12 recurs and speed is unstable, the internal sensor or drive is likely defective and the motor or drive module must be replaced.
