How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and close valves before disassembling the pump.
- 1. Confirm symptom: With the pump off, remove the lid and attempt to rotate the impeller by hand. Then, with the motor removed from the wet end, check if the motor shaft turns when powered briefly (qualified person only).
- 2. Inspect impeller hub: Separate the wet end and check if the impeller is cracked around the hub or has stripped threads. Replace if damaged.
- 3. Check motor shaft: Inspect the shaft for breakage or excessive play. A broken shaft requires motor replacement.
