Possible Causes
Debris lodged in impeller vanes, Clogged pump basket, Partially closed suction or return valve, Worn impeller or diffuser
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and close valves before disassembling the pump.
- 1. Clean baskets: Empty the Espa pump prefilter basket and all skimmer baskets. Even partial blockage can significantly reduce flow.
- 2. Check valves: Confirm that all suction and return valves are fully open.
- 3. Inspect impeller: Remove the pump wet end from the motor and access the impeller. Remove hair, leaves, or other debris from the impeller eye and vanes.
- 4. Examine impeller and diffuser: Look for worn or eroded vanes and cracks in the diffuser. Replace worn components with Espa original parts to restore performance.
