Pump starts normally but stops when the pool cleaner line is opened

Safety first: Turn off the pump before connecting or disconnecting any cleaner hoses.

• 1. Inspect cleaner hose: Check for kinks, blockages, or collapsed sections in the cleaner hose.
• 2. Adjust valves: Partially close other suction lines to balance flow and prevent the pump from losing prime when the cleaner line is opened.
• 3. Check cleaner fitting: Ensure the cleaner connection at the pool wall is airtight and not drawing air.
• 4. Reduce pump speed: On variable-speed Espa pumps, adjust speed to a level that supports the cleaner without overloading the system.
