Imbalance or Poor Mounting
Pump vibrates excessively and moves on its base during operation
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Damaged or unbalanced impeller, Loose mounting bolts, Soft or uneven base, Misaligned pipework stressing the pump
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before tightening mounts or adjusting pipework.
- 1. Check mounting: Ensure the Espa pump is securely bolted to a solid, level base. Tighten any loose mounting bolts.
- 2. Inspect pipe alignment: Verify that suction and discharge pipes align naturally with the pump ports and are not forcing the pump out of position. Add flexible couplings if necessary.
- 3. Examine impeller: Open the pump and inspect the impeller for missing pieces or heavy deposits that could cause imbalance. Replace if damaged.
- 4. Add vibration pads: Install rubber anti-vibration pads under the pump base to reduce transmitted vibration.
