Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker and lock it out if possible. Do not repeatedly reset a tripping pump.
Steps to check:
- Inspect for blockage: Remove the pump lid on the Jacuzzi strainer housing, take out the basket, and check for debris. Reach into the wet end (with power OFF) and try to spin the impeller by hand using a non-metallic tool. It should turn smoothly.
- Check for seized motor: If the impeller is hard to turn or frozen, the motor bearings may be seized. Listen for grinding or humming when it tries to start (before it trips).
- Verify wiring: Confirm the pump is wired for the correct voltage per the Jacuzzi nameplate and wiring diagram inside the motor cover. Miswiring can cause overcurrent.
- Clean basket and reassemble: Clean the strainer basket and re-seat the lid O-ring, then prime and restart.
If the impeller spins freely and wiring is correct but E02 continues, the motor windings or drive module are likely damaged and should be replaced.
