How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and close suction and return valves to isolate the pump. Allow system pressure to drop before disassembly.
Steps to replace seal:
- Remove motor from wet end: Unbolt the Jacuzzi motor from the pump housing and separate carefully.
- Remove impeller: Hold the motor shaft and unscrew the impeller. Note direction of threads.
- Extract old seal: Remove both rotating and stationary halves of the mechanical seal from the impeller and seal plate.
- Install new seal: Press the new stationary seat into the seal plate and the rotating face onto the impeller, handling only the edges and keeping faces clean.
- Reassemble: Reinstall impeller, reattach motor to housing, open valves, prime, and test for leaks.
Always use a Jacuzzi-compatible mechanical seal kit specified for your pump model.
