Possible Causes

Blocked or seized impeller, Motor bearings worn or seized, Incorrect line voltage or wiring, Internal motor winding fault

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Isolate power at the breaker and lock it out if possible. Confirm the pump cannot start unexpectedly.

  • Check for hydraulic blockage: Close valves, remove the pump lid on the Saci prefilter basket, and inspect the basket and impeller inlet for debris (leaves, stones, toys). Clean thoroughly and ensure the impeller turns freely by hand using a screwdriver on the motor shaft fan (if accessible).
  • Inspect motor rotation: With power still off, spin the motor shaft from the rear cooling fan. It should rotate smoothly without grinding. If it is stiff or jammed, the bearings may be failing.
  • Verify wiring and voltage: Confirm the pump is wired according to the Saci nameplate (single‑phase vs three‑phase). Incorrect phase or mis‑wiring can cause high current. Measure current draw with a clamp meter when briefly running the pump and compare to the rated amperage.
  • Reset and test: After clearing obstructions and verifying free rotation, restore power and restart the pump. Monitor for normal operation and absence of E02.

If E02 reappears with a free‑spinning motor and correct wiring, the motor windings or control PCB may be damaged and should be evaluated by a professional.
