Pump runs but pool circulation is weak and filter pressure is lower than normal

Safety first: Turn off the pump before opening any fittings.

• Check for bubbles: With the pump running, observe the pump lid and pool returns. Continuous air bubbles indicate a suction leak.
• Tighten unions: Hand‑tighten suction‑side unions and inspect for cracks. Replace any damaged fittings.
• Clean impeller: Remove the pump lid and basket. If flow is still weak, disassemble the wet end and clean debris from the impeller eye and vanes.
• Inspect hoses: If using flexible hose, look for kinks or collapsed sections and replace as needed.

Restoring a fully sealed suction line should bring filter pressure and flow back to normal.
