Possible Causes

Worn ceramic/carbon seal faces, Running pump dry, Age‑related seal hardening, Incorrect reassembly after previous repair

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power and close isolation valves. Allow the pump to cool before disassembly.

  • Confirm leak location: Dry the area and observe. If water appears at the junction between the volute and motor (seal plate), the mechanical seal is likely leaking.
  • Disassemble wet end: Remove the pump housing bolts, separate the volute, and remove the impeller from the motor shaft according to Saci's instructions.
  • Replace mechanical seal: Press out the old seal components from the seal plate and impeller. Install a new Saci‑compatible mechanical seal, taking care not to touch the polished faces with bare fingers.
  • Reassemble: Refit the impeller, seal plate, and housing with all O‑rings in place. Tighten bolts evenly, reopen valves, prime, and test for leaks.

If you are unfamiliar with seal replacement, consider having a pump shop perform this repair to avoid damaging the new seal.
