Possible Causes

Unsuitable cookware (non-magnetic), Pan too small for zone, Pan not centered on cooking zone, Faulty pan detection sensor on induction module

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Ensure the hob surface is cool. Turn the hob off at the control panel and isolate power at the circuit breaker before touching any internal parts.

Basic checks:

  • Verify you are using induction-compatible cookware (magnetic base). A simple test: a fridge magnet should stick firmly to the bottom of the pan.
  • Ensure the pan base diameter matches the AEG zone size (too small pans may not be detected).
  • Place the pan centrally on the marked cooking zone and ensure the base is flat and clean.
  • Clean the glass surface with a non-abrasive cleaner to remove grease or residue that may interfere with detection.
  • Reset the hob by switching off the cooker isolation switch or circuit breaker for 2–3 minutes, then restore power and test again.

If the error persists on a specific zone only:

  • The induction power module for that zone may have a defective pan detection circuit or coil sensor.
  • Access requires removing the hob from the worktop and lifting the glass. This exposes live and sharp components and should be done only by a qualified technician.

Do not bypass safety circuits. If cookware and positioning are correct and E0 remains, contact an AEG service technician to test the induction module and replace if necessary.
