Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect the hob from mains before removing it from the worktop.
Basic reset:
- Turn off the hob at the isolation switch or breaker for at least 5 minutes to fully discharge internal capacitors.
- Restore power and test. If E6 clears temporarily and returns, an intermittent connection is likely.
Internal inspection (technician recommended):
- Remove the hob and lift the glass carefully to access the user interface board and power module.
- Check the ribbon cable and connectors for secure fit, corrosion, or damage.
- Clean contacts with appropriate electronic contact cleaner and reseat firmly.
- If the error persists, isolate by substituting the UI board or power module according to AEG service procedures.
Because of high-voltage components and risk of glass damage, this repair is best left to an AEG service technician.
