Possible Causes

Open-circuit induction coil, Shorted IGBT or power transistor on module, Burnt track on power PCB, Overheated and damaged coil wiring

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety warning: The induction power stage carries high voltage and high current. Only qualified personnel should open the hob.

User actions:

  • Note which zone shows E7 and avoid using it.
  • Reset the hob at the breaker; if E7 reappears immediately on the same zone, internal hardware is likely damaged.

Technician actions:

  • Remove hob, inspect the induction coil for discoloration, cracks, or burnt smell.
  • Measure coil resistance; an open or shorted reading indicates a failed coil.
  • Inspect the power module for burnt components, especially IGBTs and associated drivers.
  • Replace the defective coil and/or power module as a matched set if required by AEG.

Do not attempt to bypass a failed zone; this can create fire and shock hazards.
