How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the breaker before extended work.
Reset and calibration:
- Disconnect power for at least 5 minutes.
- Restore power and avoid touching the controls for 1–2 minutes to allow the hob to complete its self-check.
- Consult the AEG user manual for any model-specific calibration procedure (some models require a specific key sequence).
If E8 persists:
- The control PCB may have corrupted configuration data or a failed memory chip.
- Replacement of the user interface/control board is typically required and should be done by an AEG technician.
