Possible Causes
Dirty or misaligned thermocouple, Weak flame not heating sensor, Faulty thermocouple, Faulty gas safety valve
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Gas safety: Ensure good ventilation. Turn all burners off before working near them.
User checks:
- Remove burner caps and clean the thermocouple tip (small metal rod near the burner) with a soft brush to remove grease and carbon.
- Reassemble burners correctly and ensure the flame fully envelops the thermocouple when lit.
- Test by lighting the burner and holding the knob in for the recommended time (usually 5–10 seconds) before releasing.
If F2 persists on a specific burner:
- The thermocouple or associated gas valve may be defective.
- Replacement involves disconnecting gas lines and should be performed by a certified gas technician.
