Possible Causes
Child lock function enabled, Accidental long press on lock key, Residual moisture causing lock activation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Steps to unlock (generic AEG procedure – check your manual for model-specific details):
- Look for a key symbol or lock icon on the control panel.
- Press and hold the corresponding lock button for 3–5 seconds until the 'L' disappears or a beep confirms unlocking.
- Wipe the control area with a soft, dry cloth to remove moisture or spills that may trigger the touch sensors.
- If the lock will not clear, switch off the hob at the mains for 1–2 minutes, then try again.
If the lock symbol remains and buttons are unresponsive, the touch control PCB may be faulty and require replacement.
