Possible Causes

Dirty or misaligned thermocouple, Weak flame not heating sensor, Faulty thermocouple, Defective gas safety valve

Gas safety: Work only with burners off and cooled.

User steps:

Remove burner cap and crown; clean thoroughly to ensure a strong, even flame.
Clean the thermocouple tip with a soft brush; ensure it sits directly in the flame when lit.
When lighting, hold the knob pressed in for at least 5–10 seconds to allow the thermocouple to heat.

If the flame still goes out immediately:

The thermocouple or gas valve is likely faulty.
Have a certified gas technician test and replace the thermocouple and/or gas valve as needed.
