Possible Causes
Dirty or misaligned thermocouple, Weak flame not heating sensor, Faulty thermocouple, Defective gas safety valve
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Gas safety: Work only with burners off and cooled.
User steps:
- Remove burner cap and crown; clean thoroughly to ensure a strong, even flame.
- Clean the thermocouple tip with a soft brush; ensure it sits directly in the flame when lit.
- When lighting, hold the knob pressed in for at least 5–10 seconds to allow the thermocouple to heat.
If the flame still goes out immediately:
- The thermocouple or gas valve is likely faulty.
- Have a certified gas technician test and replace the thermocouple and/or gas valve as needed.
