Possible Causes
Blown thermal cut-out (safety thermostat), Open bake element, Faulty function selector switch, Loose wiring at terminal block
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before any disassembly.
- Check timer/clock: Ensure the electronic clock is set correctly and not in automatic/program mode. Set to manual and try heating again.
- Inspect elements: Look for visible damage to the bottom and top elements. Replace any obviously broken elements.
- Test thermal cut-out: Access the rear of the cooker and locate the oven safety thermostat / thermal cut-out. Test for continuity; if open and non-resettable, replace it.
- Selector switch: If your Amica range uses a mechanical function selector, inspect it for burned contacts and test continuity in each position. Replace the function selector switch if faulty.
- Terminal block: Check the main terminal block for loose or burned connections, especially the neutral. Tighten or replace as needed.
- Re-test: After replacing faulty components, restore power and test multiple oven functions.
