Possible Causes
Open bake element, Open grill/top element, Blown thermal cut-out (safety thermostat), Faulty electronic control board relay
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate the appliance from mains power before removing any panels.
- Check elements visually: Inspect the bake (bottom) and grill (top) elements for blisters, cracks, or burn marks. Any visible break usually means the element is open and must be replaced.
- Test continuity: Remove the rear panel of the cooker to access element terminals. Disconnect one wire from each element and measure resistance with a multimeter. A typical element will read between 15–60 Ω. If it reads open (OL), replace that element.
- Inspect thermal cut-out: Locate the oven safety thermostat / thermal cut-out on the rear or top of the oven cavity. Test for continuity. If open and not resettable, replace it.
- Check wiring and connectors: Look for overheated spade connectors on elements and thermostat. Clean or replace damaged terminals and ensure tight connections.
- Control board: If all elements and thermostats test good, the fault may be a failed relay on the electronic control board. Inspect for burned tracks or components; replace the board if defective.
- Reassemble and test: After replacing faulty parts, reassemble, restore power, and test all oven functions (bake, grill, fan) to confirm E03 is cleared.
