Possible Causes
Blocked cooling vents, Failed cooling fan, Overheated induction power module, Poor cookware causing excessive cycling
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the hob at the cooker switch or breaker. Induction modules store high voltage; do not touch capacitors immediately after power-off.
- Check ventilation: Ensure there is adequate clearance under the hob (per Amica installation instructions). Remove any stored items blocking airflow in the cabinet.
- Clean air paths: If accessible, remove the lower cover and gently vacuum dust from vents and the cooling fan. Do not bend blades.
- Test cooling fan: With power restored briefly, start a low-power setting and listen for the fan. If the fan does not run or is noisy, disconnect power again and test the cooling fan motor for free rotation and continuity. Replace if seized or open.
- Cookware check: Use flat-bottom, induction-compatible pans that cover most of the zone. Poor contact can cause the module to overheat.
- Module inspection: If E04 persists and the fan and airflow are good, the induction power module may be heat-damaged and should be replaced by a qualified technician due to high-voltage risks.
