Possible Causes
Firmware error on main control board, Power supply fault on control PCB, Damaged microcontroller, Surge damage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the hob from mains power.
- Hard reset: Leave the hob disconnected for at least 15 minutes to allow capacitors to discharge and the control to fully reset. Restore power and check if E09 clears.
- Check supply voltage: Verify that the hob is connected to the correct mains voltage and phase configuration as per the rating plate. Incorrect wiring can cause internal faults.
- Inspect control board: Remove the hob and open the underside. Inspect the main control board for burned components, cracked solder joints, or bulging capacitors.
- Board replacement: If visible damage is present or E09 persists after reset and wiring checks, replace the main control board. Firmware on Amica boards is typically not field-programmable, so a new programmed board is required.
- Professional service: Due to the complexity of internal diagnostics, this repair is best handled by an authorized Amica service technician.
