Possible Causes
Open grill element, Burned wiring to grill, Faulty grill relay on control board, Overheated terminal block at grill connections
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect mains power and allow the oven to cool.
- Visual inspection: Check the grill element at the top of the oven for visible breaks, bulges, or burn marks.
- Continuity test: Access the rear of the cooker and locate the grill element terminals. Disconnect one wire and measure resistance; an open circuit indicates a failed element.
- Check wiring: Inspect the wires and terminals for heat damage. Replace any charred connectors and trim back damaged wire before fitting new terminals.
- Control relay: If the element and wiring are good but the grill never receives power, the grill relay on the electronic control board may be defective. Replace the board.
- Test grill: After replacing the element or board, run the grill at a low setting first to confirm operation and check for abnormal smells or smoke from new parts.
