Possible Causes
Weak thermocouple, Misaligned thermocouple tip, Faulty flame failure valve, Poor grounding of hob
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off gas before internal work. Gas repairs should be performed by qualified personnel.
- Clean and align: Ensure the burner cap is correctly seated and ports are clean. The flame should fully envelop the thermocouple tip.
- Hold longer: After lighting, keep the knob pressed for 10–15 seconds to allow the thermocouple to heat. If the flame still goes out, the thermocouple may be faulty.
- Replace thermocouple: Replace the burner thermocouple for the affected burner, routing the new one as per the original.
- Valve check: If a new thermocouple does not solve the issue, the gas safety valve may be defective and should be replaced by a gas technician.
