Possible Causes

Failed high-limit thermostat stuck closed, Blocked cooling ventilation around oven, Cooling fan not operating

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off power at the breaker and allow the oven to cool completely before working on it.

  • Check ventilation: Ensure the Ariston oven or range has proper clearance as per installation manual. Remove any items blocking the rear or top vents.
  • Inspect cooling fan: Remove the top or rear panel to access the tangential cooling fan. Spin the fan blades by hand; they should move freely. Check for grease buildup or obstructions.
  • Test fan operation: Restore power briefly, start a bake cycle, and listen for the cooling fan. If it does not run when the oven heats, disconnect power again and test the fan motor for continuity with a multimeter.
  • Check high-limit thermostat: Locate the safety thermostat (usually clipped to the top of the oven cavity). Some models have a manual reset button—press it firmly until it clicks. If it trips repeatedly, investigate fan and airflow issues.
  • Replace faulty parts: Replace a non-resettable or open-circuit high-limit thermostat with the correct Ariston part. Replace a seized or open-circuit cooling fan motor as needed.

Note: Persistent F03 after replacing the thermostat may indicate a control board calibration issue and should be checked by an authorised technician.
