Possible Causes
Open-circuit bake element, Open-circuit grill/broil element, Loose or burnt wiring at element terminals
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect mains power before accessing elements.
- Visual inspection: Look inside the oven cavity at the lower (bake) and upper (grill) elements. Blisters, breaks, or burn marks indicate failure.
- Access terminals: Remove the rear panel of the range/oven to access the element terminals. Check for burnt connectors or melted insulation.
- Test continuity: Disconnect one wire from each element and measure resistance. Typical Ariston oven elements read 15–40 Ω. Infinite resistance means the element is open and must be replaced.
- Check wiring: Repair or replace any overheated spade connectors and damaged wires using high-temperature rated cable and terminals.
- Replace element: Remove mounting screws from inside the cavity, gently pull the element forward, transfer wires, and install the new genuine Ariston element. Ensure terminals are tight.
- Test: Restore power and run a short bake and grill cycle to confirm heating and that F04 does not reappear.
