Possible Causes

Seized convection fan motor, Open winding in fan motor, Faulty fan relay on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Isolate the appliance from mains before removing the rear cover.

  • Access fan: Remove the rear panel of the oven cavity (inside) to expose the convection fan blade and nut. Also remove the outer rear cover to access the motor body and wiring.
  • Check for obstruction: Spin the fan blade by hand. It should rotate freely without scraping. Clean any baked-on grease or debris.
  • Test motor: Disconnect the motor wires and measure resistance across the motor terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed motor.
  • Inspect wiring and relay: Check the harness from the motor to the control board. Look for burnt connectors. On the PCB, inspect the fan relay for heat damage.
  • Replace motor if faulty: Remove the fan blade nut, pull off the blade, then unbolt the motor from the rear. Fit the new Ariston convection fan motor, refit the blade, and tighten the nut securely.
  • Test operation: Restore power, select a fan-assisted mode, and verify that the fan runs smoothly and F05 is cleared.
