Possible Causes
Blocked cooling vents under cooktop, Failed cooling fan on hob power module, Overheating due to prolonged high-power use
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off the hob at the mains and allow it to cool completely before inspection.
- Check ventilation: Ensure there is adequate clearance under the worktop as specified by Ariston. Remove any stored items (pans, trays) that may block airflow around the hob.
- Inspect cooling fan: Remove the hob from the worktop (after disconnecting power) and remove the bottom cover to access the cooling fan. Check that the fan spins freely and is not obstructed by dust or debris.
- Test fan operation: With the hob reconnected but still out of the worktop, briefly power it on and activate a zone. The fan should start when the electronics warm up. If it does not, test the fan motor for continuity and replace if open.
- Thermal sensors: Some Ariston hobs use NTC sensors on the power module. Inspect their wiring and seating. A loose sensor can cause false overtemperature readings.
- Usage advice: Avoid covering the hob surface with foil or oversized pans that trap heat. Do not run all zones at maximum power for extended periods if F10 recurs.
