Possible Causes

Open-circuit induction coil, Failed IGBT or power component on zone module, Loose connector between coil and power board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect the hob from mains. Induction power modules store high voltage—wait several minutes for capacitors to discharge.

  • Verify cookware: Confirm you are using induction-compatible pans (magnetic base, correct size). Test with a magnet on the base.
  • Access internals: Remove the hob from the countertop and take off the bottom cover to expose the coils and power modules.
  • Inspect connectors: Check the wiring from the affected zone’s coil to the power module. Reseat any loose plugs and look for heat damage.
  • Test coil: Measure resistance of the induction coil. It should show a low but finite resistance (typically less than 1 Ω). An open reading indicates a broken coil that must be replaced.
  • Module diagnosis: If the coil is intact, the power module for that zone may be defective. Look for burnt components. Replacement of the module is usually required and should be done with the exact Ariston part.
