Possible Causes
Loose communication harness between UI board and power module, Faulty touch control board, Defective power module communication circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Isolate the hob from mains before removing it from the worktop.
- Remove hob: Lift the hob out of the countertop cut-out after removing any retaining clips or sealant.
- Check harness: Locate the multi-core cable or ribbon between the front touch control board and the main power module. Reseat both ends and ensure there is no corrosion or damage.
- Inspect boards: Look for signs of moisture ingress on the touch panel and for burnt components on the power module.
- Test after reseating: Reassemble loosely, restore power, and test. If F12 persists, one of the boards is likely faulty.
- Replace faulty board: Replace the touch control board first if there are also keypad issues. If the UI is responsive but F12 remains, replace the power module with the correct Ariston part.
