Possible Causes
Open-circuit radiant element, Failed temperature limiter on the element, Burnt wiring to the zone
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect the hob from mains and wait for it to cool completely.
- Access element: Remove the hob from the worktop and take off the bottom cover to expose the ceramic elements.
- Visual check: Inspect the affected radiant element for cracks or burn marks. Check the small thermostat/limiter attached to the element.
- Test continuity: Disconnect the wires and measure resistance across the element terminals. An open reading indicates a failed element. Also test the limiter for continuity.
- Inspect wiring: Replace any burnt spade connectors and damaged wires with high-temperature rated parts.
- Replace element: Remove the mounting clips or screws, lift out the faulty element, and install the new Ariston radiant element. Reconnect wires exactly as before.
