Induction cooktop does not recognize any cookware on one or more zones; display shows E0 and zone will not heat.

Safety first: Turn off the cooktop with the main power switch and, if accessible, switch off the circuit breaker before touching any internal components. Allow the glass surface to cool completely.

• Step 1 – Check cookware type: Use only ferromagnetic cookware (bottom must attract a magnet). Stainless steel, cast iron, or enameled steel usually work. Aluminum, copper, glass, and pure ceramic will not be detected.
• Step 2 – Check cookware size and position: Ensure the pot base fully covers the marked cooking zone. Center the pot on the zone and avoid warped or concave bases that reduce contact.
• Step 3 – Test another pot: Try a different, flat-bottomed magnetic pot on the same zone. If the new pot works, the original cookware is incompatible.
• Step 4 – Cross‑test zones: Place the same pot on another zone. If it works on other zones but not on one specific zone, the issue is likely with that zone’s induction coil or sensor.
• Step 5 – Power reset: Turn off the cooktop at the breaker for 5–10 minutes, then restore power and test again. This can clear minor electronic glitches.
• Step 6 – Internal checks (technician level): Remove the cooktop from the worktop, open the lower cover, and visually inspect the affected zone’s induction coil and wiring harness to the power board for burns, cracks, or loose connectors. Measure coil resistance with a multimeter and compare to service specs. Replace the coil or power board if out of range or visibly damaged.

If the E0 error persists on a specific zone despite correct cookware, contact a qualified Balay service technician.
