Safety first: Isolate the cooktop from mains power before removing it from the countertop or opening the housing.

• Step 1 – Confirm cookware and settings: Rule out simple issues by testing with known good magnetic cookware and normal power levels.
• Step 2 – Cross‑check zones: If other zones work normally and only one zone shows E4, the fault is localized to that zone’s coil or power stage.
• Step 3 – Access internal components (technician): Remove the cooktop, unscrew the bottom cover, and locate the affected zone’s coil and its wiring harness to the power board.
• Step 4 – Inspect and test coil: Check for cracks, burn marks, or detached windings on the coil. Use a multimeter to measure resistance across the coil terminals and compare with service data. Replace the coil if open, shorted, or physically damaged.
• Step 5 – Check connectors: Reseat the coil connector on the power board and inspect for corrosion or heat damage. Clean contacts if necessary.
• Step 6 – Evaluate power board: If the coil tests good, the IGBT or driver circuit on the power module may be faulty. In most cases, replace the entire power module rather than attempting component‑level repair.

Due to high voltages and complex electronics, E4 faults are best handled by an experienced appliance technician.
