Induction Coil Vibration / Acoustic Noise
Induction cooktop makes loud buzzing or humming noises, especially at high power levels.

Possible Causes
Normal magnetostriction in coils, Thin or multi‑layer cookware causing vibration, Loose mounting of induction coil, Resonance in cabinet
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: No immediate electrical hazard, but disconnect power before tightening internal components.
- Step 1 – Change cookware: Try a heavier, thicker‑bottomed pot. Noise often decreases with better quality cookware.
- Step 2 – Reduce power level: Lower the power setting slightly. Some noise is normal at maximum power or with PowerBoost.
- Step 3 – Check installation: Ensure the cooktop is firmly seated in the countertop and that the cabinet does not vibrate excessively.
- Step 4 – Internal check (technician): With power disconnected, open the underside and verify that induction coils are securely fastened to the glass with their mounting brackets and damping pads. Tighten screws carefully without overtightening the glass.
Mild humming is normal for induction hobs, but sudden new or very loud noises should be investigated.
