Possible Causes
Shorted temperature sensor, sensor coated with heavy grease causing false readings, failed main oven control board, stuck relay on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker and allow the oven to cool completely before inspection.
- Visual inspection: Remove oven racks and inspect the temperature sensor probe at the rear wall. Clean off heavy grease or carbon buildup with a non-abrasive cleaner.
- Test sensor resistance: With power off, remove the sensor and measure resistance at room temperature. Compare to Beko specifications. A very low resistance (near short) can cause overheating and E02.
- Check wiring: Inspect the harness from the sensor to the control board for damage or melted insulation from previous overheating.
- Control board check: If the sensor is in spec and wiring is intact, the oven PCB may have a stuck heating relay. This typically requires replacement of the control board; do not attempt to repair the relay unless you are qualified in electronics.
- Reassemble and test: After replacing the faulty component, restore power and test at a moderate temperature (e.g. 180°C) while monitoring for stable cycling.
