Possible Causes
Open bake element, open grill/broil element, burned wiring to heating elements, failed heating relay on main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate the appliance from mains power before removing any panels.
- Check elements visually: Inspect the visible bake and grill elements for blisters, cracks, or burn marks. Any visible break usually means the element is open and must be replaced.
- Test continuity: Remove the rear panel of the range to access the element terminals. Disconnect one wire from each element and measure resistance with a multimeter. A typical element will show 15–60 Ω. Infinite resistance indicates a failed element.
- Inspect wiring: Look for burned spade connectors or discolored wires at the element terminals and at the control board. Repair or replace damaged wiring using high-temperature rated wire.
- Control board diagnosis: If elements and wiring are good, the heating relay on the oven PCB may not be energizing. Check for loose connectors on the board. If no obvious wiring issue is found, replace the main oven control board.
- Reassemble: Refit all panels securely, restore power, and test each heating function (bake, grill, fan-assisted) to confirm normal operation.
