Possible Causes

Failed oven cavity cooling fan motor, blocked cooling air vents, open overheat thermostat (safety thermostat), wiring fault between thermostat and control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power and allow the appliance to cool fully.

  • Check ventilation: Ensure the range is installed with proper clearances and that front and rear ventilation slots are not blocked by cabinetry or foil.
  • Inspect cooling fan: Remove the top cover or rear panel (depending on model) to access the cooling fan assembly above or behind the oven cavity. Spin the fan blades by hand; they should move freely without scraping.
  • Test fan motor: Disconnect the fan motor connector and measure resistance across the motor terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed motor. Also check for 230 V AC supply to the fan when the oven is running (only if you are competent to test live circuits).
  • Check overheat thermostat: Locate the safety thermostat (usually clipped to the top of the oven cavity). Test for continuity; an open thermostat will prevent operation. Some thermostats are manual-reset with a small button—press gently to reset if tripped.
  • Replace faulty parts: Replace the cooling fan motor or overheat thermostat if defective. Ensure wiring is correctly routed and secured away from hot surfaces.
