Possible Causes

Faulty door lock motor, broken door lock microswitch, misaligned door latch, damaged wiring between lock assembly and control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect the appliance from mains power. If the door is locked with food inside, wait for the oven to cool before attempting to open.

  • Check door closure: Ensure the door closes fully and evenly. Inspect the latch hook for bending or damage.
  • Access lock assembly: On many Beko pyrolytic models, the door lock is accessible by removing the top cover or front control panel. Carefully remove screws and note the position of each connector.
  • Test microswitches: With a multimeter, check continuity of the lock microswitches while manually operating the lock lever. Switches should change state (open/close) reliably.
  • Inspect lock motor: If fitted, test the lock motor coil for continuity. An open coil indicates a failed motor.
  • Check wiring: Look for broken or pinched wires in the harness from the lock to the control board. Repair any damage with proper connectors and insulation.
  • Replace assembly if needed: If the lock mechanism is worn or the motor/switches are faulty, replace the complete door lock assembly. Reassemble and test a normal bake cycle before attempting a pyrolytic clean.
