Gas cooktop electronic ignition does not work and the display or indicator shows E20 on some models with timers.

Safety first: Turn off gas supply at the shutoff valve and disconnect the appliance from mains power before removing any parts.

• Check mains supply: Verify that the cooktop is plugged in and that the outlet has power.
• Listen for clicking: When a burner knob is turned to ignite, you should hear rapid clicking. If there is no clicking on any burner, suspect the ignition transformer or its power supply.
• Inspect wiring: Remove the cooktop from the worktop and lift the top panel to access the ignition transformer and wiring. Look for loose connectors or burned wires.
• Test transformer: With power disconnected, check for obvious damage. If all switches and wiring are intact but there is no spark, replace the ignition transformer (spark generator).
• Check individual switches: If some burners spark and others do not, test the ignition switch on the non-working burner’s control valve and replace if faulty.
