Possible Causes
Worn or burned contacts in function selector switch, loose knob shaft, broken internal cam, wiring fault from selector to elements and control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before removing the control panel.
- Check knob and feel: Rotate the function selector knob through all positions. Excessive looseness or rough spots may indicate internal damage.
- Access selector switch: Remove the control panel to expose the function selector. Note the wiring positions or take a photo before disconnecting anything.
- Inspect contacts: Look for signs of overheating or melted plastic around the switch terminals.
- Test continuity: Using the wiring diagram, test continuity between the appropriate terminals in each selector position. If contacts do not close as specified, replace the selector switch.
- Rewire carefully: Transfer wires one by one from the old switch to the new one to avoid misconnection. Reassemble and test all oven functions.
