Gas burner will not ignite (no clicking sound, no spark) but gas is present when knob is turned.

Safety first: Turn off gas at the shutoff valve and disconnect the appliance from mains power. Ventilate the area if gas has accumulated.

• Verify power: Check that the cooktop is plugged in and the outlet is live. Restore power if needed.
• Test other burners: If none of the burners click, suspect the ignition transformer or its power supply. If some click and others do not, suspect individual switches or wiring.
• Access ignition components: Remove the cooktop surface to expose the ignition transformer and wiring. Inspect for loose connectors or burned wires.
• Replace faulty parts: Replace the ignition transformer if there is no spark on any burner and wiring is intact. Replace individual ignition switches or repair wiring for single-burner issues.
• Alternative lighting: Until repaired, you may light burners with a long match or lighter if local regulations allow and if flame failure devices are functioning, but this is not recommended as a long-term solution.
