Possible Causes
Open radiant element, burned thermal limiter on element, wiring fault to element, faulty control switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and remove the cooktop from the worktop before accessing internal parts.
- Access element: Remove the bottom cover to expose the radiant elements.
- Inspect element: Look for visible breaks or burn marks on the element track.
- Test continuity: Disconnect the element and measure resistance across its terminals. Infinite resistance indicates failure.
- Check limiter: Some elements have an integrated thermal limiter; if open, the entire element assembly must be replaced.
- Replace element: Install a new radiant element of the correct size and rating, reconnect wiring, and reassemble.
