Electric cooktop radiant element does not heat at all.

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker and verify the cooktop is cold before lifting the glass surface.

• Check indicator: Turn the control knob; if the indicator light does not come on, suspect the switch or power supply.
• Access element: Remove the cooktop from the counter and lift the glass to expose the radiant elements.
• Inspect element: Look for visible breaks or burn marks in the coil.
• Test continuity: Disconnect the element and measure resistance. An open circuit means the element is bad and must be replaced.
• Check switch: If the element is good, test the infinite switch or electronic control output for continuity when turned on. Replace the faulty component.
